OUR STORY

Hi, as you might have guessed my name is Jenny and I am passionate about bees and all the good and lovely things they do and produce. I have always been a hands on wildlife and animal enthusiast, but looking back I never imagined I would become a bee keeper, but here I am and 'loving it'.

My involvement began with my husbands severe hay fever and asthma condition. After much research, trials and alternative therapies, and not seeing any significant improvement, I became aware of the beneficial properties of Honey and Beeswax. However I found it difficult to obtain good quality, natural, local British bee products. Convinced that this could be the answer to my husbands condition I decided to join my local Beekeepers Association to learn about bee keeping.

I started with one hive and placed it in the meadow next to our house and despite the poor weather in the first summer we had enough honey and beeswax for me to begin my trial recipes. I had so much fun making the products that my eagerness meant we were soon over run with candles, soaps, lip balms, hand creams and moisturisers. I ended up gifting them to friends and family. The enthusiasm and interest I received was so overwhelming, that I decided to develop the range and so began jennysbees.

Today we have several hives that are situated in natural rolling meadow land. The honey and wax is harvested each year for use in our products. Our home smells wonderful, and you will be pleased to know that my husband's hayfever and asthma has really improved and he has just enjoyed his first summer.

The more I learn the greater my enthusiasm for natural, healthy, sustainable bee products becomes. I find bee keeping so therapeutic and relaxing, they are fascinating too watch and work with, and nothing beats sitting by the hives on a summer’s evening watching them come and go, we should all be doing it.
